Dalhousie is a beautiful hill station located in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The city made as the summer retreat in the year of 1854 and named after the governor general of that time, Lord Dalhousie. The town is situated on evaluation of 6,000 to 9,000 feet from sea level, surrounded by snow capped peak. The town is spread across the land of 14 square KMs around five famous hills which are Kathalagh, Potreyn, Terah, Bakrota and Bhangora.
Dalhousie is considered as the gateway of ancient Chamba hill state, which is now a day known as Chamba district and a part of Himachal Pradesh. The town is full of charm and offer excellent view of Chenab river as well as the Beas Valley. Around the torn there are number of picturesque walk run through the oak, pine and deodar forest.
Beside the picturesque scenery and the marvelous atmosphere, the town provides excellent shopping, that delight every tourist at the famous mall road. It seems that all the activities are centered on that road. The town also has very good accommodation options. All of these factors make the town a perfect outdoor recreation activity destination.
